Black Mirror season 7 to feature star-studded cast from The Crown and Doctor Who

The seventh season of Black Mirror is set to be a star-studded affair, with a host of big names joining the cast for the Netflix show's eagerly awaited next instalment.

The upcoming series, which will consist of six episodes, is slated for release in 2025.

In a first for the sci-fi anthology, this season will include a sequel episode that continues the narrative of USS Callister, reports the Express.

The new season will also boast a line-up of familiar faces from Hollywood blockbusters and popular British dramas such as The Crown and Doctor Who.

While plot details for the forthcoming episodes are being kept under wraps for now, fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that filming is currently in progress and will be finished in time for a release sometime next year.

Conceived by Charlie Brooker, each episode of the series presents a chilling tale, often set in the near future, featuring technology that terrorises, manipulates or distorts the minds of its characters.

Past cast members have included Jodie Whittaker, Anthony Mackie, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya and Bryce Dallas Howard.
