Ben Shephard warns Tipping Point player over backlash after risky move on ITV show

Send Push

Tipping Point host Ben Shephard didn't hesitate to caution a contestant mentioning her relative would be 'livid' over her gameplay choice.

On the Wednesday (October 23) instalment of ITV's popular quiz programme, presenter Ben returned to our screens alongside three hopefuls aiming for a substantial cash win.

The episode had viewers watch as contestants dropped counters into any of the four slots, trying to dislodge stacks of them from a moving platform, with the goal being the more they collect, the bigger their potential prize packet.

Whoever earns the least by the end of the round gets the boot, leaving the victor to battle it out for a hefty £10,000 jackpot.

In the hot seat hoping for the big win were Liverpudlian Mike, Katie, a medical secretary from Barry, and Paul, a retired finance analyst from Coventry, reports .

Katie became the focus as Ben interjected with his cautionary advice. Having correctly answered a query, Ben queried which drop zone she fancied for her tokens.

Katie confessed: "My nan would have really crossed with me if I didn't go for drop zone four so I'm going to go for drop zone four for my nan."

Quizmaster Ben double-checked: "Are you going to stay with drop zone four? " To everyone's surprise, Katie changed her mind stating: "You know what, I'm going to mix it up a bit and go for three."

Ben couldn't help but warn: "Your nan is going to be furious by the way." However, Katie's risky move seemed to pay off as she bagged £50 to add to her winnings.

Unfortunately, Katie was the first to bow out of the game, leaving the competition early.

Meanwhile, Mike sailed through to the finale, pocketing a cool £4,359 and snagging an air fryer from the mystery prize drop.

When quizzed about his potential jackpot plans, he disclosed: "If it's the jackpot then I would plan a trip to Japan with the family."

Host Ben wasted no time in questioning whether Mike would gamble away his earnings for a shot at the £10k main prize.

Ben pointed out that taking the risk could mean walking away empty-handed, but Mike opted for caution, confessing: "I'm going to play it safe and stick with what I've already got."

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV
