Several media outlets have today reported Carlo Ancelotti looks likely to become the next manager of the Brazilian national football team. The move is believed to be close to completion after a source told Sky Sports News that talks for the position will continue in May.
Brazil are believed to have been pursuing the former Chelsea manager since the 2022 World Cup and are looking for him to lead their charge in the 2026 competition.
Ancelotti is expected to move away from Real Madrid and this could reportedly happen as early as next week. The break away comes after the Spanish giants were recently knocked out of the Champions League by Arsenal - a disappointing result given their substantial investment in pursuit of a title they've previously won 15 times.

Diego Fernandes, a Brazilian businessman is apparently behind orchestrating the move for Ancelotti and was highlighted by Spanish press at the Copa Del Rey final on Saturday - trying to to get the deal done.
Sky said they have approached Real Madrid and the Brazilian Football Federation for comment. On the club front, away from international competition - Ancelotti is believed to have several interested parties wanting him to manage their teams. These include a few different options in the English Premier League such as Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.
that Tottenham could be a plausible landing spot for Ancelotti. Especially with the uncertainty surrounding Ange Postecoglou's future beyond this season. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy might find himself in another managerial hunt come season end and the Italian could be seen as an attractive option.
Ancelotti would be an interesting choice, given his successful track record with youthful squads. However, he would require the level of support that hasn't always been forthcoming for Tottenham managers at the club.

If Forest secure Champions League qualification and Nuno Espirito Santo struggles at the start of next season, ambitious owner Evangelos Marinakis won't hesitate to aim high when seeking his next manager and that could mean an approach for Ancelotti. The Reds are a club steeped in history and backed by substantial resources which means The Tricky Trees could be viewed as a good fit for the former Chelsea gaffer - just like Everton was for Ancelotti back in 2019.
Ancelotti might feel he has unfinished business at Goodison Park. His return to Madrid in 2021 was inevitable, and he left Everton on amicable terms. Of course, that was under previous management, but Everton's new owners would likely welcome Ancelotti back. But working against this plan is the fact David Moyes has had an impressive start since his return and is unlikely to go anywhere else soon.
Ancelotti managed Chelsea from 2009 to 2011, and he's one of only three managers to lead the club to a Premier League title. With a strong history at The Blues, he could be the man to do it all over again.
Enzo Maresca may continue into the next season, but there's growing dissatisfaction among Chelsea fans due to the team's performance in the latter half of the campaign. Maresca had Chelsea playing some fantastic football before Christmas, even challenging Liverpool for the Premier League title - but a young and inexperienced squad have since lost momentum.
