I've looked everywhere for an UGG Goldenstar alternative and I've found one in a £23 New Look pair

Despite having 'shopping' in my job title, I don't actually do that much shopping for myself. I have what I'd like to call a curated wardrobe, and I pride myself on not buying into social media hype for specific items I'm likely to wear only a handful of times. However, when I saw come up on my TikTok feed, I knew my feet needed them.

The problem is the style has been sold out in every size except for a 3 in the sand shade that I desperately want. I've had stock notifications on for weeks, but it seems the clogs aren't coming back anytime soon. Sob. If you're happy with the darker tan shade, though, .

I'd absolutely rather have the originals but I've been left with no choice than to search the Internet far and wide for a similar style of shoe – and I've found them, rather unexpectedly, in a New Look pair.

The are miraculously still in stock in sizes 3-9 and offer a similar UGG look for a lot less money. The Goldenstar Clogs will set you back £125 (if you're lucky enough to get your hands on them), while is priced at a wallet-friendly £22.99.

In summary, while both of the shoes offer the handy backstrap to keep the mules from slipping off the feet, a rounded toe design, soft feeling fabric and chunky soles, it's clear the New Look pair is targeted more for indoor wear than outdoor. The fabric definitely isn't waterproof, and the fur-lined inside is more for comfort than sweat absorption, but they are great for wearing on a dry day to run errands.

I'm still going to add the UGGs to my basket as soon as they come back in stock because I want a pair to last me at least through to next spring, but I'm delighted to have New Look's pair in the interim.

I haven't found many other Goldenstar-like options online – and believe me when I say I have looked – but these were my second choice. At £75, they're definitely a proper shoe rather than a slipper and feature a neutral sand shade and a backstrap design like the UGG pair I want.
