Liverpool is reportedly , marking him as a key part of the club's future. Quansah signed a four-year deal with the club in 2023 worth $3.1 million and was in line to become a free agent in 2027.

But he is now set for a new contract, according to signalling he has a part to play in the long-term future under Arne Slot. As the Reds manage the contracts of high-profile players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah; Quansah, and fellow center-back Ibrahima Konate have emerged as priorities in the team's squad-building efforts.

Both choices signal Liverpool’s intent to continue strengthening their defense with proven youth under the guidance of new manager Slot.

Quansah started the first game of the season, Liverpool's 2-0 win over Ipswich Town. But the young defender had a challenging match, committing two fouls in a span of five minutes, leading to his substitution at halftime for Konate.

The match was intense, with 16 fouls in the first half-hour and three yellow cards. Despite the challenges, Liverpool pulled off a late victory with goals from Diogo Jota and Salah, while Quansah observed from the sidelines.

After the match, Slot was honest about why Quansah was yanked from the game so early.

"First thing I said is we don't have to speak about tactics if we lose so many duels and that was what we did," said Slot. "Not that Jarell lost every duel - many of us lost too many duels. But I think we needed Konate to win these long balls in the air from their No.9."

Since Quansah was substituted in the first league game of the year, he has not returned to Liverpool's starting lineup. But it appears Slot sees a future for the young center-back with the contract plans that have come to light.

he club favors the stability provided by Konate and Van Dijk in critical fixtures, limiting Quansah's minutes to just 45 on the year. Konate has logged 569 minutes at center back, while Van Dijk has played a team-high 630.

Quansah's most recent appearance came in Liverpool's dominant 5-1 win over West Ham in the Carabao Cup in September. He was responsible for West Ham's lone goal, scoring an own goal in the first half and giving the Hammers an early lead.

After the international break, Liverpool will face Chelsea in the Premier League on October 20. They will follow up the game with a Champions League clash with RB Leipzig on October 23.

Quansah, who was recently selected to start for England U21s, played a key role in their 4-1 friendly victory over Austria on Sept 9. The 21-year-old started as the left-sided center-back and remained on the pitch for 82 minutes before being substituted by Nathan Wood.
