Jessica Simpson sparks divorce rumours as she ditches ring and shares cryptic post

American pop star has sparked further rumours that her marriage is over as she shared a series of sultry new snaps.

The singer took to her page to post a string of images of herself posing wearing a white lace dress layered underneath a black fur coat with black patent platform-heeled boots. Her wedding ring was noticeably absent from her hand in the pictures causing fans to again speculate that her marriage to Eric Johnson is over.

Captioning the post Jessica also appeared to hit out at someone close to her as she detailed her "comeback." She wrote: "Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic. This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve."

Her fans then rushed to the comments section as they took note of what it may be her comment implied. One wrote: "Ohhh someone is NOT PLAYING anymore, girls!!! Take notes!!"

A second said: "I'm so sorry you went through what you did." Another asked: "Are you talking about your husband?" A fourth social media user took their interpretation to a different level writing: "I feel as though she regrets divorcing Nick. All due respect to her." A fifth commented: "I just know it’s going to be worth the wait. I love you so much and you deserve the ." Jessica has been spotted without her rings several times in the past few months.

There have also been reports that she and Eric are no longer living in their Hidden Hills, California mansion together. In October she was seen arriving at Los Angeles LAX airport without her wedding ring on. Meanwhile, Life & Style reported friction in their marriage.

A source told the outlet: "Eric has had it with her crazy mood swings. And Jessica feels like their marriage has lost its romance. Everyone's wondering how long they can go on like this. Eric has been doing his own thing for longer than anyone seems to know. He's been very vocal about how difficult it is to live with someone so obsessed with surgery and so detached from reality most of the time."

Jessica and Eric have not been seen together since they attended their five-year-old daughter Birdie's graduation from kindergarten back in June. The couple also share daughter Maxwell, 12, and son Ace, 11. Rumours suggest that Jessica and Eric have been living separate lives for around a year. He was last seen on social media in April in another potential indicator of trouble in their marriage.
