Liam Gallagher assures fans he'll make Oasis tour gig despite lifetime ban

Liam Gallagher has assured fans he will be allowed to fly to for Oasis’s tour – despite being given a lifetime ban by an airline when he went there in 1998.

He confirms he has permission to return for next year’s run of gigs, going on sale next week, saying: “There are other airlines I can take.” In the 90s, he was allegedly “unruly” on a flight to Oz , for the Be Here Now tour.

He was accused of smoking on board, throwing items at other passengers and swearing repeatedly, with the pilot threatening to divert the flight due to the behaviour of his 30-strong entourage.

However, Liam insisted at the time: “I don’t know what they’re talking about. They asked me to shut my mouth.”

During the same Australian leg of the tour, Liam also got into trouble for headbutting a British backpacker, which was settled out of court.

Responding to a fan who suggested he would not be allowed to enter the country, Liam responded: “You thought wrong didn’t you it was [Cathay] Pathetic and there are other airlines I can take.”

The airline said at the time: “Cathay Pacific has taken the decision to refuse any further carriage to and people known to have been causing a nuisance on the flight in question.”
