Liverpool star Alisson Becker has left fans stunned after shaving off his iconic beard.
The Brazilian goalkeeper is one of the most recognisable stars in world football and has sported a beard for the majority of his time at Anfield. But ahead of this weekend’s clash with Bournemouth at Anfield, he opted for a fresh look. A
video of a fresh-faced Alisson arriving in training showed him sharing a joke with teammate Alexis Mac Allister. And while the look has gone down well with the majority, a few Reds fans were not convinced.

One said: “My day has been significantly ruined,” while another replied: “I don't like this at all folks.” Another supporter also had a warning for Arne Slot's side. They responded: “Why did he shave his Aura? We're about to concede for fun.”
Fortunately, Alisson has a decent record when it comes to playing without his iconic beard. He also opted for a clean-shaven look when Liverpool took on Southampton at Anfield in November 2022.
The Reds secured a 3-1 success against the Saints that day, with Alisson putting in an eye-catching performance. Liverpool team-mate Harvey Elliott suggested that he would have to deploy the razor on a few more occasions.
Speaking at the time, the Reds midfielder said: “I think he’s going to have to shave his beard every game now! So many times he has kept us in the game and it’s nothing new from Alisson, to be honest.

“He’s an unbelievable ’keeper as well as an unbelievable human being, so we’re all very proud of him. For us he’s the best goalkeeper in the world and to be playing alongside him and know you have that reassurance with him at the back in the goal is always a nice feeling - but sometimes we just need to make sure we’re there to help him out as well!
“But at the end of the day he’s, as I said, the best ’keeper in the world and sometimes that’s what you have to do.”
Alisson will be hoping for similar success against another south coast club in Bournemouth this weekend and will be hoping to record what will be his fourth clean sheet of the Slot era.
