Lucy and Jon started dating in 2013, after meeting through mutual friend Roisin Conaty, who starred in After Life with Ricky Gervais.

Although no reason has been given for the divorce, Lucy previously admitted she had considered if she'd "made a mistake" in marrying Jon when she slammed his stubborn nature in an unearthed clip. The video shows her question their marriage on Jon's show Ultimate Worrier. When Lucy was asked if she had any hang-ups about him, she replied: "I've got a lot. Sometimes I worry that I've made a mistake."

The couple married in 2015 and quickly won the public over, going on to do interviews, comedy shows and charity gigs together. They even hosted their own game show and of course, got better acquainted with fans in their mockumentary, Meet The Richardsons.

In another previous clip from 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Lucy joked that she and Jon weren't "for life".

When Jimmy Carr asked her: "What made you decided to settle?", Lucy replied: "I don’t see this for life, isn’t there a song Just Passing Through? A season, a reason or a lifetime. You meet in your life old souls, new souls, a***holes. Before Jon I’d never had an avocado. We’ve had a lovely life together. We’ve had a daughter. Who knows what will happen in the future."

Jon, in mock astonishment asked Lucy if they were "breaking up now", as the audience laughed.

Opening up to about the end of their relationship, she pondered: "People might think I should talk about it because we were so public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won't, and not because there's any animosity.

"We both agreed that while it might be for other people not hearing anything about it, we wouldn't talk about anything to do with the marriage or each other."

In another interview with The Sunday Times, mum-of-one Lucy said that lawyers have advised her that she "can't talk" about the ongoing divorce, but did feel "guilty" about how she handled fame.

She said: "I don't regret anything. But equally, [over] this next stage I am very much keeping my personal life personal. I sometimes feel guilty that I talked about my daughter and my marriage, and my mum and my dad."
