However, it's only natural Amorim will want to bring in the same staff that aided him in achieving such significant success at Sporting CP. As a result, there may be no space for Van Nistelrooy at United – the only club where he said he would have accepted an assistant role.

There's no doubt about the former PSV manager's dedication, and it seems there's at least one senior figure in the squad – Casemiro – who returns that commitment in kind. If Van Nistelrooy were to leave the Red Devils again this autumn, Casemiro might be among the saddest in the squad to see him go.
