Wild conspiracy theories about a 'new Justin Bieber song' have been swirling online in light of P Diddy's arrest, but all is not what it seems with the track.
After Diddy was arrested earlier this month on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, the mysterious song resurfaced and went viral for a second time, with attention turning to the hip-hop artist's friendship with Justin, which dates back to when the Baby singer was a rising teenage star.
The lyrics first went viral back in April, with listeners disturbed by TikTok videos which appeared to show the the artist singing that he 'lost [himself] at a Diddy party', asserting that 'it cost [him] way more than [his] soul, wasn't worth all the fortune and fame'.
In light of the allegations, Justin fans have been analysing these lyrics which, on the surface, appear to convey a chilling meaning. However, there is no evidence to suggest this is anything other than a hoax.

The debunked lyrics, in what appears to be an opening verse, are as follows: "Lost myself at a Diddy party, didn't know that's how it go, I was in it for a new Ferrari, but it cost me way more than my soul, wasn't worth all the fortune and fame."
However, as clarified by the fact-checking site Snopes, there is no concrete evidence to substantiate the song's existence, and at the time of writing, there has been no official confirmation from any credible sources. A number of online commenters have even suggested the track was in fact generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
Ties were formed between Justin and Diddy right from the start of the Canadian pop icon's entrance into the music world at the age of 15, after he signed with Usher's record label, becoming part of the Caught Up entourage. Footage taken back in 2009 shows the pair discussing spending the weekend together. In the video, Diddy said: "He's having forty-eight hours with Diddy, where we hanging out and what we're doing we can't really disclose, but it's definitely a 15-year-old's dream."
Detailing his role as a mentor to Justin, Combs went on to explain "I have been given custody of him. He's signed to Usher and I had legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album. I don't have legal guardianship of him [Bieber] but for the next forty-eight hours he's with me and we're gonna go full crazy." When asked what he wanted to do, Bieber told Diddy: "Let's go get some girls." Diddy then replied: "Man after my heart. That's what I'm talking about."
At the time of writing, Justin hasn't publicly commented on the charges Diddy is facing. But a source close to the singer, who recently welcomed son Jack into the world with wife Hailey Bieber, told People that the new dad has been 'in a happy bubble' since the birth of his first child, and 'just wants to focus on being a great dad and husband'.
As part of the court filing, Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones has accused Diddy of hosting 'freak off' parties, alleging that the 54-year-old rapper possesses 'recordings of several celebrities, artists, music label executives, and athletes engaging in illegal activity'.
The filing goes on to state that 'these individuals were recorded without their knowledge and consent', and that minors were forced into 'commercial sex acts' during these alleged parties. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges he faces and has denied all wrongdoing.
After being denied bail multiple times, Diddy is currently being held at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) in Brooklyn. Speaking with reporters outside court on Tuesday, September 17, Diddy's attorney Marc Agnifilo: "Mr Combs is a fighter, he's going to fight this to the end. He's innocent. He came to New York to establish his innocence. He's not afraid, he's not afraid of the charges."
Regarding the latest raids at his properties, Diddy's lawyer, Aaron Dyer, told The Mirror : "Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs' residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated."
Mr Dyer added: "This unprecedented ambush -- paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence -- leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits. There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name."
