The One Show host dropped a massive announcement about his colleague during the show.
Amid their lively discussions Roman and co-host wrapped up proceedings with some cheer-worthy Children In Need updates. Alex teased viewers first, declaring: "Now there's just over a month to go until we'll all be getting ready to stick on our Pudsey ears and help raise an incredible amount of money for this year'sappeal show on the 15th of November."
It was Roman who dished out the big reveal, as he remarked: "Yeah, and we can reveal that the presenter helping host the big night for the very first time is here right now. It's Moments later, BBC Radio 2 host Vernon strolled onto the set, joining actors Aiden Turner and Bella Maclean from Rivals.
Roman seized the moment to congratulate Vernon, exclaiming: "Congratulations, mate, taking on hosting duties on the night. You're one of six presenters on the big night." The host probed Vernon further, asking: "I guess the big question is what made you want to take on hosting duties?", reports .
Vernon, known for his stint on , shared an emotive reason behind his choice. FollowingVernon was stirred to ramp up his involvement. "It really plucked at my own personal heartstrings as you really see how important Children In Need is to so many people," he shared.

BBC's cherished charity, Children In Need, has been touching hearts for an impressive 44 years, having been launched by the legendary trio Terry Wogan, Sue Lawley, and Esther Rantzen. The forthcoming show promises a glittering line-up of six fantastic hosts: Chris Ramsey, Ade Adepitan, Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes, Lenny Rush, and Vernon Kay.
Thrilled to join the presenting team, actor Lenny Rush expressed: "It's such an honour to be part of such a special production which helps raise money for both children and young people in the UK facing disadvantages." Vernon raised over £6million last year for BBC Children in Need with his Ultra ULTRA Marathon.
The Radio 2 presenter ran 116 miles from Leicester to his hometown of Bolton in just four days. This year, colleague is Starting on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show on November 11, the presenter will pedal almost 300 miles, starting in Wrexham, north Wales.
The route will take him through more counties – Flintshire, Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire - including a stop at Preston. Then it is onto Westmorland, Cumberland, Dumfriesshire and Lanarkshire, and he is aiming to finish at on Friday November 15 morning in Glasgow.
Paddy said: “I’ll be cycling from Wrexham to Glasgow. That’s 300 miles, eight counties and three nations. ‘No likey, no bikey’ just isn’t an option! As a kid, I didn’t have much and used to be really jealous of my mates riding around on those bikes, so I’m really honoured to support Children in Need by getting peddling to raise as much money as possible for the charity. After seeing Vernon’s incredible efforts last year - no pressure then!”
