Strictly: It Take Two fans have been let unimpressed after finding out what Nick Knowles and his partner Luba Mushtuk will be dancing to this weekend.

The pair appeared on the BBC Two Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show on Monday (September 23) to discuss what fans can expect from their second routine.

Nick and Luba told host Janette Manrara that they'll be dancing the American Smooth to Parklife by Blur if the DIY SOS presenter's injury doesn't get in the way.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "An American Smooth to Park Life? Really? I love the American Smooth so please #Strictly producers CHOOSE SONGS THAT FIT THE DAMN DANCE!! #ItTakesTwo." Another added: "First Paul Merson and Vindaloo, now Nick Knowles is doing an American Smooth to Parklife Seriously have #strictly sacked all their producers and replaced them with people who don’t know what an American Smooth is cos what the fuck are these song choices #ItTakesTwo."

A third person said: "Who is in charge of music this year??? #strictly #ittakestwo." A fourth said: "Parklife for an American Smooth..I guess not quite as bad as Vindaloo. But still absolutely ridiculous. The MD of strictly needs firing."

It comes after Nick, 62, issued an update on his injury after changing a car tyre following breaking down. He explained: "It was my birthday on Saturday and I had a big family birthday get-together on the Sunday. I went to get my 10-year-old son and bring him back to the party, but we broke down on the motorway with a flat tyre.

"It was raining and there were big lorries going past, I tried to do it quickly and change the tyre quickly and as I took the tyre off I basically damaged my bicep."

Thanking the policeman who turned up and helped him get the tyre back on, Nick admitted that he initially thought he was fine but the pain got worse. Presenter Janette said: "At this stage, we don't really know if you're going to be able to dance on Saturday yet."

Nick added: "I'm hopeful! I'll find out more tomorrow but I'm fully expecting to go into training and I'm really hopeful I'll be dancing on Saturday." Impressed with his outlook, Janette replied: "That is the fighting spirit isn't it!"

Janette then questioned how they'd be able to choreograph a routine if Nick is still injured. His Strictly partner Luba replied: "First of all, we will sparkle this part (his sling). Then we still have a perfect position on our right arm. "We're going to do perfect footwork, we might even do a lift on that arm."

Nick reassured Janette that it's "lucky he's big and Luba is light so one arm lift should be ok" His partner replied: "I'll work around it, I'll make it work."

Although he's near the bottom of the leaderboard, Nick confessed he's not nervous at the prospect of being eliminated as he's excited to improve.

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday on BBC One from 6:15pm and Strictly: It Takes Two airs weeknights on BBC Two from 6pm
