This morning, viewers were less than impressed on Wednesday morning when and introduced the programme in a slightly unusual way. With the stars celebrating The Bill airing 40 years ago, the two presenters paid tribute to the iconic opening by dressing up as officers themselves.
As Cat tried her best to give her most intimidating stance, Ben commented: "You're still in character, you're doing a very good job!" Mentioning all of the famous faces that had appeared in the crime show over the years, they quickly moved on to cameo roles in which they starred themselves.
However, as the segment continued, people watching weren't thrilled with how long the intro ran on.
Taking to to share their thoughts, one person fumed: "#ThisMorning Please stop with the dancing/acting intro. Your viewers are not 5 year olds."
Another commented: "5 mins in and they’re still talking about themselves." Someone else asked: "Oh my lord, can we just get on with the show?" While another viewer tweeted: "It's all about me!"
During their discussion, Ben revealed he'd featured in the hit sitcom Friends, one of the films and even the Lego Movie with . Cat shared: "I did a part in The Simpsons which was pretty amazing. We went to the Fox studios. All the old dressing rooms are there so like Marilyn Monroe's dressing room and all that, you can feel the history to the place."
Admitting she had to record her part away from the other actors on the show, Cat shared she did get to keep the cell from the episode she's on. Although she also appeared in the Disney show Shake It Up, with actress Zendaya Coleman.
Speaking about acting with the Hollywood star, Cat commented: "She was lovely then and she's lovely now." Questioned whether or not she stays friends with Zendaya, the host confessed they do text one another every once in a while.
However, things took an unexpected turn when Ben told viewers his brother made an unexpected cameo during Lorraine.
With Andi Peters telling people about the ITV competition in Singapore, he was sat alongside a man having breakfast, which turned out to be Ben's sibling. Cutting back to them live on air, Ben admitted: "My brother lives in Singapore, that's my brother Toby who just randomly popped up. I was coming into the studio so I missed this this morning. My brother had a cameo with Andi's comp."
The two had a lighthearted conversation where he revealed he told Ben's wife Annie that he'd be making a surprise appearance.
This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am.
