New changes in the calling feature

WhatsApp has also made several in-call improvements with this update so that the conversation can be better and interactive.

Scheduled Calls: Now you can plan group calls in advance and invite people. All participants will get a reminder before the call starts.

In-Call Interaction Tools: During the meeting, there will be an option to tell the turn to speak or react with emojis, without interrupting anyone.

Calls Tab Management: The call tab will now have the facility to see incoming calls, list of participants and call link. The call creator will also get an alert when someone joins the call from the link.

WhatsApp has clarified that all calls will be protected with end-to-end encryption. This update is being rolled out globally and will reach all users in the coming days.

How to schedule a WhatsApp call

Open WhatsApp and go to the Calls tab.

Tap on the call icon at the top.

Select the contact or group you want to call.

Select the Schedule Call option instead of calling immediately.

Now set the date and time, decide whether it will be a video call or audio call.

Finally confirm by pressing the green button.

Your scheduled call will appear in the Upcoming Calls list and a notification will be sent to everyone before the call starts. This new feature is especially beneficial for users who often plan group meetings or family video calls.
