Lisa and Maroon 5's 'Priceless' collab sparks mixed reactions

Send Push

Another song, another collab! That's been the talk surrounding BLACKPINK's Lisa ever since she embarked on her solo career. Since launching her own company, LLOUD, Lisa has been everywhere — from the Oscars to Coachella.

She also released her solo album Alter Ego, which featured collaborations with major pop stars including Doja Cat, Raye, Rosalía, Megan Thee Stallion, Future, and Tyla. Now, Lisa is once again making waves with an exciting new collaboration, this time with Maroon 5.

'Priceless' collaboration

On April 25, Maroon 5 confirmed that Lisa would be featuring on their upcoming single titled PRICELESS. The announcement was accompanied by a short teaser video, showing Lisa posing alongside Maroon 5's frontman, Adam Levine, fueling even more excitement among fans worldwide.

Collab receives mixed reactions

The snippet shared by the band offers a brief glimpse into the concept, with Lisa's charismatic visuals and stylish chemistry with Adam Levine already creating major buzz online.

However, the collab has also drawn negative reactions. Some pointed out that Lisa has heavily relied on Western artists for her solo work, while others questioned her decision to collaborate with Adam Levine, a figure labeled "problematic" by some.

For context, Adam Levine faced controversy in 2022 when he was accused of inappropriate behavior and flirting with several women online while married to model Behati Prinsloo. Although he denied having an affair, he admitted to "crossing the line," which led to widespread criticism.

Fans react

Many fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss the new collab. Some expressed excitement, noting Lisa's global popularity and Maroon 5's history of chart-topping hits, while others were critical.

One user commented, "She has more collaborations than solo songs and still couldn't get a single hit, LMAO."

Another wrote, "The way she has more Western collabs than solo songs... never beating the desperate for Western validation allegations, I fear."

A harsher take read, "An assaulter and a desperate superstar wannabe... my head hurts for another flop to come."

Another questioned, "Is this the man who assaulted his exes?"

One added, "Tbh, I've lost count of the number of collabs Lisa and Jennie have with Western artists, lol."

As for the song itself, while no official release date has been announced yet, Adam Levine had previously hinted that Maroon 5 would release a new single around the end of April — leading many to believe PRICELESS is the project he was teasing.
