Home-grown helmet maker Steelbird’s flagship brand, IGNYTE, has just debuted in the European market at EICMA 2024 in Milan. The manufacturer has showcased a lineup of over 36 helmet models, all certified with the European ECE 22.06 safety standard. This move also aligns with the country’s ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ initiative as the IGNYTE range comes as the first Indian brand to earn both ECE 22.06 and DOT certifications.
Steelbird Ignyte Helmets at EICMA: What’s on offer
EICMA 2024 served as the stage for the launch of IGNYTE’s AI and IGN helmet series . The AI series, including models AI 10, AI 14, and AI 16, showcased safety features within a lightweight fiberglass shell, tipping the scale at as low as 1,850 gms. The models combine an ‘Airlite Fiberglass’ shell with multi-density EPS liners to improve impact resistance. Besides that, these helmets feature scratch-resistant polycarbonate visors, dual spoilers for improved aerodynamics, and washable interiors for enhanced comfort.
Meanwhile, the IGN series, featuring models IGN 12 through IGN 40, come equipped with high-impact ABS material and a ventilation system for optimal airflow. Moreover, the IGN series also includes noise reduction features, neck protectors, and quick-release visors. Selected models in the series come with dual certifications, hence complying with global safety norms.

The new range is expected to launch in India soon, with select models arriving as early as next month. They’ll be available at over 220 Steelbird outlets nationwide, as well as on popular e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, plus the official Steelbird and IGNYTE websites.
