Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 3 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has taken a potshot at the Congress, saying that party, which opposes worship of cows, would never come to power in the state.
CM Yadav made the remark while addressing the public after performing Govardhan Puja in Goras village, Karahal tehsil in Vijaypur Assembly of Sheopur district on Saturday. Along with the Govardhan Puja celebrations, CM Yadav also ate food with attendees on the occasion.
"Congress has always taken support of the false promises. Congress never fulfils its promises made to the public. The opposition parties also object to celebrating Sanatan festivals. When our government decided to perform Govardhan Puja, opposition party leaders are objecting to it. Congress, which is opposing the worship of Govardhan and cow, has been out of power in Madhya Pradesh for 20 years. If it continues to oppose cow worship, then it will never come to power," CM Yadav said.
The CM further alleged that the Congress always made false promises to the public during elections and claimed that even Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge himself admitted it.
"The Congress party always makes false promises to the public during elections to get votes, and then fails to fulfil them after the elections. Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge himself is admitting that the Congress makes false promises during elections. This makes it clear that the Congress party considers the public only as votes, it does not want to do anything for the welfare of the public," CM Yadav alleged.
He further highlighted that BJP candidate from Vijaypur for by-election, Ramniwas Rawat, left the Congress party for the development of this region.
In the last one year, construction work of 253 kilometres of roads has been started in Vijaypur assembly constituency. The roads under construction will be completed soon. 17 irrigation projects have been approved in this region, due to which more than 17 thousand hectares of land will be irrigated, CM Yadav added.
He also appealed to the women to exercise their franchise in the favour of the BJP nominee Rawat on the occasion.
Vijaypur assembly seat in Sheopur district fell vacant after Rawat, who was sitting MLA from the seat from Congress party, quit the Congress party and joined the BJP amid the Lok Sabha elections in April this year. Currently, Rawat is the Forest and Environment Minister in the cabinet of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Notably, two assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh Vijaypur assembly seat in Sheopur district and Budhni seat in Sehore district will undergo by-poll next month on November 13.
Additionally, the CM emphasised that the BJP government promised to give Rs 3,000 a month to Ladli Behnas and that promise would also be fulfilled.
"Our world begins with Gau Mata (cow) and ends with Gau Mata. 33 crore gods and goddesses reside in Gau Mata. Gau Mata works for the welfare of the entire world. Ladli Behnas are currently getting Rs 1250 a month. Women of Baiga Bhariya and Sahariya community are receiving Rs 1500 per month to overcome malnutrition. BJP works to give equal respect to both farmers in the farm and soldiers on the borders. Congress ruled for years, but did not do anything for the development of the Sahariya community. The BJP government is working for the society by forming Sahariya Vikas Pradhikaran," the CM said.
Goras village is famous for Gir cows for a long time. Gir cows have greatly enriched the economy of Brazil. The BJP government will work to change the image and fate of Madhya Pradesh and the country with Gir cows, the CM added. (ANI)
