Bobby Deol is enjoying one of the strongest comebacks in Bollywood. After leaving audiences impressed with his powerful performances in Animal and Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood, the actor has redefined his place in the industry. With his calm screen presence and effortless charm, Bobby has once again become a fan favourite, but beyond his professional high, he’s also a doting father, deeply involved in his sons’ journeys.

Bobby Deol opens up about sons' careers

In a recent chat, Bobby opened up about his two sons, Aryaman and Dharam Deol, and how both have chosen very different directions in life. The actor told Radio Nasha that while his younger son decided to quit studies after completing Class 12, his elder son Aryaman went on to study at the NYU Stern School of Business in the United States, one of the most prestigious institutions in the world. He said he hadn’t realised just how reputed the college was until others pointed it out to him, laughing that he only understood its importance after hearing people’s reactions.

For the unversed, the NYU Stern School of Business is part of New York University, a private research university located in New York City. It was originally established in 1900 as the School of Commerce, Accounts, and Finance, and was renamed the Stern School of Business in 1988.

Despite their different choices, both Aryaman and Dharam have shown interest in films. However, Bobby is in no rush to push them into the limelight. He believes that his elder son, who is already receiving several offers from the film industry, should take his time before making his debut. According to Bobby, Aryaman is currently training and preparing himself for the big screen, as the actor wants him to understand the craft fully before stepping into acting. The proud father feels it’s better to wait and learn rather than be thrown into the deep end without the right preparation.

Talking about the challenges of being a star kid, Bobby admitted that the pressure is immense. He said that growing up in a film family doesn’t necessarily make the journey easier, in fact, it often comes with more scrutiny. He talked about how young actors from film families are constantly compared to their famous parents, which can make it harder for them to prove their individuality.

Bobby also drew a comparison to Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who recently turned director. He praised Aryan for taking up such a challenging creative path and said he understands how much pressure comes with being the child of a superstar. According to Bobby, it takes courage to build one’s own identity while carrying a legacy that the entire country recognises.

Bobby Deol's upcoming projects

On the work front, Bobby Deol’s own career continues to thrive. After the massive success of Animal, he has lined up several exciting projects, including Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar, Alia Bhatt’s Alpha, and the Tamil film Jana Nayagan. While he continues to win audiences over with his intense performances, Bobby seems equally proud of watching his sons carve out their own journeys.
