The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alerts for rainfall in various districts. On November 12, 12 districts were on alert, followed by 17 districts on November 13, expanding to 27 districts on November 14, and then covering 25 districts on November 15.

According to an IMD bulletin, “For the next 48 hours, the city and the suburbs may receive moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over some areas. Skies may be partly cloudy. Maximum temperature is likely to be around 32°C-33°C and minimum temperature is likely to be around 25°C.”
Rainfall expected to spread across coastal and interior regions
IMD officials anticipate that the rain activity will begin along the coastal districts, from Tiruvallur to Ramanathapuram, starting November 12. The rainfall is expected to extend to nearby areas on November 13, moving further to south interior districts and a few western regions by November 14. By November 15, heavy rain will primarily affect coastal, northern, and southern districts, while on November 16 and 17, the showers are expected to shift to western and some northern interior districts.
