A 20-year-old woman from Delhi's Mukundpur suffered acid burn injuries as three men allegedly attacked her on Sunday over a heated argument that took place few months ago.
The victim is a second-year student of Laxmi Bai College in Ashok Vihar, told police that she was walking towards the college when her acquaintance Jitender, also a resident of Mukundpur, approached her with Ishan and Aman on a motorcycle.
According to the Delhi Police, Ishan gave the bottle to Arman, who threw the acid on her, adding that the woman tried to protect her face but sustained injuries on both hands. The accused fled the scene after the attack.
The victim told police that Jintender used to stalk her and a heated argument had taken place between the two a few months ago.
The woman is currently undergoing treatment at Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital.
The Crime team and FSL visited the spot after the incident. Based on the woman’s statement and the nature of her injuries, police said a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is in progress.
