In the latest installment of The Great Indian Kapil Show, the audience witnessed a heartfelt episode featuring actors Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Varma, Jitendra Kumar, and Pratik Gandhi. Hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma, the episode not only entertained but also delved deep into the personal journeys of these accomplished actors. Sharma later took to social media to post behind-the-scenes footage, capturing candid conversations where each actor reflected on their early days in the entertainment industry.

Jaideep Ahlawat’s Humble Beginnings in Mumbai

Jaideep Ahlawat, now one of India’s most respected performers, spoke openly about the early hardships he faced while trying to establish himself in Mumbai’s fiercely competitive film industry. He recalled how he once lived in a cramped one-bedroom apartment with as many as five other people. Initially, he and a friend had moved into the space, but as more struggling artists sought temporary shelter, the home grew increasingly crowded. They shared whatever space was available—even sleeping in the open kitchen and hallway.

"We were only two people in the beginning, but then we became six people in one BHK because someone or the other would ask for a place to stay, and we would allow them to stay with us. So the bedroom of my house was filled with clothes, and we all would just lay together in the open kitchen and hall.." he said.

Despite the lack of personal space and privacy, Ahlawat emphasized the camaraderie they shared and how they managed to find joy in those challenging circumstances.

A Monumental Leap in Lifestyle

A far cry from those early days, Jaideep Ahlawat has now moved into a world of opulence. As reported by SquareYards, Ahlawat, along with his wife, Jyoti Hooda, recently bought a high-end property in Mumbai’s upscale Andheri area. The luxurious apartment, located on the 14th floor of the prestigious Poorna Apartments, was acquired for Rs 10 crore. Notably, this is not his first investment in the building. Ahlawat had purchased another flat on the same floor in May 2025 for the same amount.

According to property registration records reviewed by SquareYards, the first apartment spans a carpet area of approximately 1,950 square feet (around 181 square meters) and has a built-up area of roughly 2,341 square feet (approximately 217.5 square meters). The transaction also included four dedicated parking spots and came with a stamp duty of Rs 60 lakh and registration charges of Rs 30,000.

A Star Who Rolls in Style

In addition to real estate, Ahlawat has indulged in luxury automobiles. Last year, he was seen taking delivery of a brand-new Mercedes-Benz SUV, an event captured in a video that went viral on social media. According to Times Now, the vehicle is priced at Rs 1.32 crore (ex-showroom) and is one of the most premium offerings from the German auto manufacturer in India. The model even has a Maybach variant, underscoring its elite status.

Soaring Net Worth from Stellar Performances

Jaideep Ahlawat’s professional success is also mirrored in his rising net worth. As per Bollywood Shaadis, he was paid a staggering Rs 20 crore for the second season of the critically acclaimed Amazon Prime series Paatal Lok. This remarkable fee catapulted his estimated net worth to somewhere between Rs 8 crore and Rs 28 crore. Comparatively, for the first season of Paatal Lok, Ahlawat had charged approximately Rs 40 lakh. The massive jump in remuneration is a testament to his growing stature in the industry.

A Decorated Career in Indian Entertainment

Jaideep Ahlawat’s acting career spans both cinema and streaming platforms. He gained early recognition for his performances in Bollywood hits like Raees (2017) and Raazi (2018), where he shared screen space with prominent actors such as Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt. His breakthrough came in 2020 when he played a gritty police officer in Paatal Lok, a role that earned him the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series.

In 2023, he starred opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan in the suspense thriller Jaane Jaan. Most recently, Ahlawat appeared alongside Saif Ali Khan in the Netflix action-thriller Jewel Thief, released in 2025.
