Streaming details of Raat Akeli Hai sequel

The crime thriller will stream soon on Netflix, the same platform that hosted the first film. Directed by Honey Trehan and written by Smita Singh, the sequel continues their creative partnership under RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures, with Ronnie Screwvala, Honey Trehan, and Abhishek Chaubey backing the project as producers. Before its OTT release, the film will have its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa this November, giving audiences an early taste of the story.

Set a few years after the events of the 2020 film, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders follows Inspector Jatil Yadav as he is pulled into a new and chilling murder case that shakes the core of a powerful and influential family. What begins as a straightforward investigation soon spirals into a web of deceit, power, and long-buried secrets. As Jatil digs deeper, he is forced to question his sense of justice and morality in a world where every clue hides another lie.

Talking about returning to one of his most memorable roles, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that Jatil Yadav remains close to his heart. “Jatil is flawed and restless, yet relentless in his pursuit of truth. This new case tests everything he believes in,” he shared. The actor also expressed his gratitude to the makers and said revisiting Jatil felt like “returning to unfinished business.”

Along with Nawazuddin, Radhika Apte will reprise her role from the original film, while the sequel introduces a fresh lineup of actors, including Chitrangada Singh, Rajat Kapoor, Deepti Naval, Ila Arun, Revathy, Akhilendra Mishra, Priyanka Setia, and Sanjay Kapoor in pivotal roles. The makers have hinted that each character adds a new layer to the mystery, keeping the audience guessing till the end.

The original Raat Akeli Hai (2020) was lauded for its gritty tone, layered storytelling, and powerful performances. It followed Inspector Jatil Yadav as he investigated the murder of a wealthy patriarch, unravelling dark secrets within the family. The sequel, The Bansal Murders, expands that universe while staying true to the film’s core themes of truth, justice, and moral ambiguity.
