Weight loss journeys are not always a tale of triumph. Rapper Bhad Bhabie recently broke silence on her sudden weight loss. Taking to Instagram Stories, the ‘Gucci Flip Flops’ hitmaker wrote, “I’m sorry my cancer medication made me loose [sic] weight. I'm slowly gaining it back. So stop running with the worst narratives.”

Her mother, Barbara Bregoli, also announced the cancer diagnosis on Instagram. She addressed gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who had uploaded a YouTube video suggesting that Bhad Bhabie might be exaggerating her health situation for “attention,” likening her to Lil Tay, who recently drew media attention with a death hoax.

“I’m pretty heated right now,” Barbara said in an Instagram video. “How dare you? I pray to God one of your children never gets cancer. I’ve had it twice. How dare you say my daughter is faking this?”

Neither Danielle nor Barbara has disclosed details about the type of cancer the rapper is facing, the medication she’s on, or any updates regarding her current health.

Who Is Bhad Bhabhie?

Danielle Peskowitz Bregoli (born March 26, 2003), known by her stage name Bhad Bhabie (/bæd ˈbeɪbiː/, "bad baby"), is an American rapper and online personality from Boynton Beach, Florida. She gained widespread attention in September 2016 after appearing on the Dr. Phil show, where her catchphrase, “Cash me outside, how 'bout that?” went viral, leading to internet fame and meme status. This surge in popularity inspired her to launch a career in music, capitalizing on the media buzz through merchandise and recording projects.

Her first single, "These Heaux," released in 2017, reached number 77 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Bregoli the youngest female rapper to chart a song. She later signed with Atlantic Records, re-releasing her debut track alongside follow-up singles like "Hi Bich" and "Gucci Flip Flops" (featuring Lil Yachty), both of which charted modestly and received platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). These successes led to her debut mixtape, 15 (2018), which, despite critical disapproval, showcased her entry into the rap scene.

In March, Bhad Bhabie welcomed her first child, a daughter named Kali Rose, with rapper Le Vaughn. Throughout her pregnancy, she shared updates on Instagram, posting a series of photos featuring her clearly visible baby bump. In early February, she also shared photos from Kali's lavish, pink-themed baby shower, celebrating the upcoming arrival in style.
