Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently admitted to having made some “mistakes in the past.” No, not that one. The ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ star recently held an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Instagram where she got candid about her box-office failures and professional setbacks.
Samantha Accepts Failure
Not one to shy away from her drawbacks, Samantha gracefully admitted that she had been experiencing a rough patch on the professional front. When a fan asked how she prepared for her upcoming TV series ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, the ‘Yashoda’ actress replied: “I made a promise to myself that I'll challenge myself with every role that I take, each challenge being more difficult than the last one. I agree I made some mistakes in the past and things haven’t really worked out, and I accept failure. I accept that I might not have done my best in my last few films."
Samantha shared her thoughts on Citadel, expressing pride in the project even ahead of its release, primarily for the accomplishment of completing it. “I’m already proud of it,” she remarked, adding, “I genuinely believe this is the most layered, complex, and challenging role I’ve taken on in my career. But I’ll leave it to you to decide,” she finished with a smile.
For the unversed, Samantha’s career took a hit in 2023, as she had two critical and commercial failures—the fantasy drama ‘Shakuntalam’ and romantic comedy ‘Kushi’ opposite Vijay Deverakonda. Samantha’s next appearance will be in Citadel: Honey Bunny, where she stars alongside Varun Dhawan. This action series, penned by Sita R Menon and directed by the duo Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK), serves as the Indian chapter of the international Citadel franchise. It is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 7.
Samantha also hit headlines recently as her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya got engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala.
