Durga Ashtami 2025 Date: On the eighth day of Sharadiya Navratri, a special puja is performed for the Mahagauri form of Goddess Durga, and this day holds great religious significance. According to the Druk Panchang, this year the Ashwin Shukla Ashtami date will begin at 4:31 pm on Monday, September 29th, and end at 6:06 pm on Tuesday, September 30th. According to the Udayatithi, Durga Ashtami Puja will be performed on September 30th. Kanya Pujan will also be performed on this day, as on Ashtami, devotees invite at least nine girls, feed them kheer, halwa, and puris, touch their feet, seek blessings, and give them gifts. This time, Kanya Pujan will be performed on Ashtami on September 30th and Mahanavami on October 1st.

Brahma Muhurta: 4:37 am to 5:25 am (best for bathing and meditation)
Abhijit Muhurta: 11:47 am to 12:35 pm

Maha Ashtami Puja Method
In the morning, take a bath and wear clean clothes.
Clean the place of worship and sprinkle Ganga water.
Anoint Goddess Mahagauri with Ganga water and install her at the place of worship.
Offer red sandalwood, unbroken rice grains, red flowers, and a red scarf to the Goddess.
Offer fruits, kheer, and sweets as offerings.
Light a lamp and incense sticks and recite Durga Saptashati and Durga Chalisa.
Perform a havan (fire ritual) and perform aarti (aarti) with camphor on a betel leaf.
At the end of the puja, apologize to the Goddess for any shortcomings.

Those who break their Navratri fast on Ashtami can perform havan and Kanya pujan, followed by performing the evening aarti of Goddess Durga.
