Overcoming the disappointment of defeat in their very first match of IPL 2025, the Gujarat Titans have registered their fourth consecutive win. Gujarat, captained by Shubman Gill, crushed Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs in a one-sided manner in their fifth match of the season. With this, Gujarat defeated Rajasthan for the sixth time in the history of IPL. Gujarat performed brilliantly on all three fronts in this match, in which Sai Sudarshan's brilliant innings and Prasidh Krishna's deadly spell proved to be the most important. With this win, Gujarat has secured the first position in the points table.

GT batsmen including Sudarshan shine
The host team completely dominated the 23rd match of the season played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, its start was not good, when fast bowler Jofra Archer created problems in the powerplay. Captain Shubman Gill was clean bowled in the third over itself. But Sai Sudarshan attacked the other bowlers of Rajasthan. This batsman, along with Jos Buttler (36 runs, 25 balls), made a brilliant partnership of 80 runs in just 47 balls for the second wicket, due to which Rajasthan completed 100 runs in 11 overs.
Sudarshan (82 runs, 53 balls) completed his third half-century in the season during this time but missed the century coming close. But the rest of the batsmen played an important role in converting the start given by him into a big score. Shahrukh Khan scored 36 runs in 20 balls, Rahul Tewatia scored 24 runs in just 12 balls and Rashid Khan scored 12 runs in 4 balls to take the team to a big score of 217 runs. Every bowler of Rajasthan was beaten except Archer. However, Mahish Teekshna and Tushar Deshpande took 2-2 wickets.
Prasidh gave shock after shock.
Rajasthan did not get the start it wanted. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana were out for just 12 runs in the third over. But captain Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag still attacked and targeted the fast bowlers of Gujarat. Both of them took the team close to 60 runs in the powerplay. But the wicket of Riyan Parag (26) in the seventh over changed the situation and Dhruv Jurel also got out in the next over.

After losing 4 wickets for just 68 runs, the responsibility was on captain Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer, who crossed the score of 110 by the 12th over. But in the 13th over, Prasidh Krishna made Samson (41) his first victim. Shivam Dubey was also out in the next over. This was the problem of Rajasthan that it lost 2-2 wickets in consecutive overs throughout the innings. In the 16th over, Prasidh ended all hopes by dismissing Hetmyer (52). Rajasthan's entire innings collapsed at 159 runs in the 20th over. Prasidh took 3 wickets, while Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore took 2 wickets each.
