Nalanda University is located in the state of Bihar. This educational institution was established in the 5th century AD. It was the world's first residential international university and the first major knowledge center of ancient India. Thousands of students and teachers came here to get an education from the country and abroad. Takshashila
Takshashila University is currently located in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It was one of the oldest universities in the world. Shanti Niketan
Shanti Niketan is called the education center of modern India. Shantiniketan was founded in 1863 in West Bengal by Maharishi Devendranath Tagore. Later, Rabindranath Tagore developed it as a Gurukul-style school in 1901 and then as Vishwa Bharati University in 1921. In this educational center, emphasis was laid on art, literature, and music in conjunction with nature, away from traditional methods of education. Shantiniketan has been given the status of a World Heritage Site, which has given it global recognition. Here is a modern confluence of Indian and Western education, which provides diverse courses to the students. Even today it remains identified as Vishwa Bharati University.
