Aditya Roy Kapur is set to star next in Raj & DK's Rakht Bramhand alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. However, there are reports stating that the show has been put on hold amid a budget crisis and might get cancelled.

Earlier, Peeping Moon reported that the series had encountered financial irregularities during production, with a case of financial fraud detected on Raj & DK's set. The show's executive producer was accused of gross mismanagement of funds and significant discrepancies in the accounting records.

The report further stated, "About two weeks ago, Netflix held a closed-door meeting with creators Raj & DK and the new executive producer, who has previously worked with Aamir Khan's and Farhan Akhtar’s banners. They examined the existing budget and the actual costs required to move forward. The figures simply failed to align. Netflix has already incurred significant losses from earlier shoots — much of which needs to be reshot anyway — and they’re unwilling to invest further in what’s already deemed high-risk."

Thus, Aditya, Samantha, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ali Fazal reportedly moved on to other projects as they are not aware of when or if the series will resume shooting.

Rakht Bramhand's script is currently undergoing major rewrites, resulting in the scrapping of 26 days' worth of already filmed footage, a move that is adding significant financial strain to a project originally estimated to cost around Rs 200 crore.

Netflix shared that the show has been merely 'delayed.'

"This is an ambitious epic project unfolding over multiple schedules. We just finished most of our indoor talkie schedule, and we are now prepping for the next big schedule that is mostly outdoors and action. The plan is to wait for the rains to clear for a suitable filming window. We also need lush greens for this period piece. So yeah, we are prepping for the next big action schedule,” Raj & DK said in a statement.
