Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Police arrested Chintu Chouksey for allegedly attacking a BJP leader’s house and critically injuring him and his family member stating that he was also on the spot and the complainant had named Chouksey as one of the attackers in his complaint, but Chouksey claimed that he was not at the spot during the incident, which he claimed is not a major incident and added that action against him was taken under the charge of attempt to murder.
Replying to a media person Chouksey said, ‘Andher Nagari Choupat Raja, jis jagah main moujud nahi hu aur jo ghatna itni badi nahi hai usko 307 (IPC section for attempt to murder) me tabdil kardiya. Jangal raj hai, BJP ki Sarkar hai’. He said this when he was taken to the hospital for medical examination.
DCP (Zone-3) Hansraj Singh informed Free Press that according to statements given by Pathak’s wife, Chouksey was at the spot so he was also booked and arrested. The investigation is on and the CCTVs of the spot are also being examined. The DCP said that three accused have been arrested in connection with the same and a search is on for other accused.
Chouksey’s nephew injured, no complaint received
In this attack, Chouksey’s nephew Rohan also got injured and is undergoing treatment in a city hospital. Hiar Nagar police station in charge PL Sharma said that Rohan was injured but no complaint was received from him or other family members against the attackers. The information is being gathered from the doctors to know his injury and the investigation is underway into the case.
Sajjan Verma, Chadhha reach court
Chouksey was taken to the court and senior Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma, city Congress president Surjeet Singh Chaddha and other Congress leaders also reached there. Chaddha and other Congress party activists also went to the Central Jail in support of Chouksey.
Police should also take action against attackers of other group: Patwari
Congress state president JituPatwari told the media persons that a family member of Chintu Choukey was also injured in the attack but the police only arrested Chouksey and his supporters but no action was taken against the other group.
He also raised a question on police alertness stating that the police arrested Chouksey at 5 am on Sunday but a BJP corporator threatened another BJP corporator and said I am alive but police have not taken any action against him so far.
