Satna (Madhya Pradesh): The health department has failed to act against the fake doctors running clinics in tribal areas of the Tehsil, official sources said. The fake doctors running the clinics are Dr Hari Bangali near CM Rise School and Shubhash Kumar Vishwar Pori.
Fake doctors are also running clinics in different wards under Nagar Parishad, Unchhehara. The quacks have set up clinics in Parasmaniya, Pipariya, Alampur, and Maharajpur villages.
They take higher charges from the tribal people. Officials of the health department said they lacked enough staff to act against the fake doctors.
If any patient dies during treatment, the police will not be able to locate the fake doctors, sources said. Such doctors put up signboards on roads without fear. They also put the Red Cross on those signboards. People complain to the administration about these doctors.
But such complaints go unheard. Sources said some fake doctors were even doing operations and treating patients suffering from serious diseases. But just as the quacks come to know that the medical teams will search their clinics, they disappear, sources further said.
Medical officer of the Unchehara community health centre, Dr AK Rai, says the department acts against the fake doctors.
