The imposter account, under the name Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and handle @VaibhavOfficia, quickly gained traction by mimicking the young star’s identity. It used Vaibhav’s official images one in his Rajasthan Royals jersey and another in India U19 whites giving the impression of authenticity.
The fake account cleverly reposted content from the official RR X handle, but it was a reply to a tweet from Sachin Tendulkar that truly set off the frenzy. Tendulkar had praised the youngster’s phenomenal knock, tweeting
"Vaibhav’s fearless approach, bat speed, picking the length early, and transferring the energy behind the ball was the recipe behind a fabulous innings. End result: 101 runs off 38 balls. Well played!!"
The fake profile responded with "Thank you so much Sir. It’s been a dream to earn a compliment from someone I’ve admired. Grateful beyond words."

Believing the reply was from the real Suryavanshi, fans swarmed the post. However, suspicions soon arose. tHE X quickly investigated the account and cited three reasons for confirming it as a fake:
1. Not followed by Rajasthan Royals (they follow all their players).
2. Account handle using ‘Officia’, professional account tend to avoid such names.
3. All tweets and replies originated on 28th April, likely to farm engagement.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi's record breaking knock
Vaibhav Suryavanshi aggressively attacked Gujarat Titans' bowlers, including Ishant Sharma and debutant Karim Janat, scoring 28 and 30 runs in their respective overs. He was relentless from the first ball, taking on the bowling attack. Suryavanshi reached his maiden IPL fifty in just 17 balls and then went on to score another 50 runs in the next 18 balls.
The 14-year-old was dismissed for 101 runs off 38 balls, hitting 7 fours and 11 sixes. Vaibhav Suryavanshi's 11 sixes in his innings set a joint-record for the most sixes hit by an Indian in a single IPL innings. The Royals, led by a breathtaking century from Vaibhav Suryavanshi, overhauled a massive target with remarkable ease.
