Mumbai: In a significant breakthrough, Shivaji Park Police have arrested a man who had been absconding for 20 years in connection with a fatal accident case registered in 2005.
The accused, identified as Suresh Kumar Fulchand Vaishya, a resident of Jay Maharashtra Nagar, Kokari Agar, Sion Koliwada, Antop Hill, was wanted in connection with an FIR registered in 2005 under Sections 279, 337, and 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code.
Following consistent efforts to trace the accused, the police received a tip-off that Vaishya was residing in Vadodara, Gujarat. Acting on the lead, a team reached Baroda and apprehended him from his current residence at Ganesh Nagar, Khodiyar Nagar, Vaikunth, New VIP Road, Vadodara.
The arrest operation was carried out by Police Constable Patil and Police Shipai Kewat. The accused was brought to Shivaji Park Police Station and formally arrested in the 2005 case. He will be produced before the holiday court on April 14.
