The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for the next five days for Nashik district. The sky will remain clear for the next three days from today, followed by partly cloudy weather. During this period, the maximum temperature will be between 39 and 40 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature will be between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius. The wind speed will be 11 to 14 kilometres per hour.
However, thundershowers have been predicted in the ghat section of Nashik district on May 3. The IMD has appealed to the citizens of the ghat section to protect livestock and themselves from thundershowers.
"Considering the forecast of windy weather, support vegetables and newly planted fruit trees. Due to the hot weather, it is ideal to give the third irrigation to the summer millet crop from the flowering to the grain-filling stage. To avoid pests during storage, the moisture content of the grains should be kept below 10%. The land should be cultivated for sowing of Kharif rice, finger millet, and niger crops. While pruning in April in the vineyard, the top should be pruned, leaving only one eye on the cane. If there is a spot on the cane in the old orchard, it should be completely cut off," the district administration said.
"Hybrid cows should be given special care in summer. They should be kept in a cool place and watered 3–4 times a day with cold water. Goats should be given 3 to 5 kg of green fodder daily, along with 200 to 300 grams of good-quality feed. The ratio of fodder and feed should be kept at 50:50. Goats should be given vitamins and probiotics. To keep the poultry shed cool, water should be sprinkled three to four times a day, and linen curtains should be installed. It is necessary to keep the air circulating in the shed," it added.
