The French Government’s higher education fair, Choose France Tour 2025, will return to India this October with events in four cities — Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Organised by Campus France, the fair will host representatives from over 50 French universities and institutions to engage directly with students and parents.

Schedule of the Fair

  • October 5 – Chennai, The Leela Palace

  • October 7 – New Delhi, Le Méridien

  • October 9 – Kolkata, JW Marriott

  • October 11 – Mumbai, Hotel Sahara Star

More than 400,000 international students study in France each year, making it a popular choice. According to the QS World University Rankings 2026, 35 French universities feature on the list, including four in the top 100 globally.

For Indian students, the fair opens pathways to nearly 1,700 English-taught programmes in fields such as management, engineering, sciences, law, fashion, design, and the arts. Students who are new to the French language can explore Classes internationales, which offer language and foundation courses before joining degree programmes.

The French system also provides significant support for international students. Over 500 scholarships are given to Indian students annually. In addition, affordable housing options, medical coverage of up to 70 percent, and opportunities for internships form an integral part of the study experience. Graduates completing their Master’s degrees can also apply for a two-year residence permit, while the five-year Alumni Schengen Visa facilitates professional mobility across Europe.

This year’s tour also highlights the growing academic ties between India and France. France has set a goal to host 30,000 Indian students by 2030, and there are currently nearly 600 agreements between French and Indian institutions.

Apart from academics, Indian students studying in France gain exposure to the country’s cultural heritage, lifestyle, and innovation ecosystem.
