Sawan Rush: Varanasi Schools Shut On Mondays, Open Sundays To Ease Kanwariya Traffic

Schools in Varanasi have adjusted their timetables for the month of Sawan to manage the anticipated surge in devotees. All schools will now remain open on Sundays and be closed on Mondays.

This decision aims to alleviate the significant traffic congestion typically experienced on Mondays, when a large number of Kanwariyas from distant areas, visit Vishwanath temple to offer water. This heavy influx of pilgrims often leads to severe traffic jams, causing considerable inconvenience for students.

Schools in the Nyay Panchayat Alauddinpur area of Lohta police station will also adhere to this revised schedule.  The change is specifically implemented to help students avoid getting stuck in the heavy traffic expected on Mondays during Sawan.
