Cricket enthusiasts in Kanpur are once again facing disappointment as the city will not host any matches for UP T20 League Season 3. Initially, there were talks of Lucknow's Ekana Stadium hosting league matches and Green Park Stadium hosting the knockout stages, but plans changed, and all matches are allocated to Lucknow. Sources suggest a strong political undercurrent behind this decision.
One faction within the association reportedly pushed for all matches to be held in Lucknow, overriding another group that advocated for some games at Green Park. The association, however, cited the franchises' preference for venues.
