Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer just a futuristic concept; it has now become the world’s most transformative force, reshaping everything from how we work, learn, create, and connect. And we have barely scratched the surface here.
A world without AI is just slow, less connected, and far less efficient. Many of the conveniences we now take for granted – instant language translation, personalised recommendations, intelligent healthcare diagnostics, or automated customer support – would just not exist if it were not for AI.
Moreover, innovation across sectors such as science, transportation, and education would gradually decline in the absence of AI. This is probably why the world has started to understand the importance of AI, and India is no exception.
Ever since the advent of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, we (Inc42) have been witnessing Indian techies and entrepreneurs going all in to rule this roost. This trend is also visible in our flagship monthly series of 30 Startups To Watch, which is getting bloated with more and more AI startups every month.
Not just this, AI funding has been on the rise, and according to investors, there is no dearth of funds for AI startups that have real solutions for real-world problems.
Witnessing this, we thought to begin a new chapter, another flagship series, in our quest to find the AI trailblazers of tomorrow.
Therefore, here we are with Inc42’s newest series — AI Startups To Watch — where, each month, we will shine the spotlight on five early stage Indian AI startups that are on the path to disrupting the market.
This first edition of Inc42’s AI Startups To Watch comprises names like AIGnosis, August AI, Mple, Sherlocks and Webenoid. While AIGnosis and August AI are trying to change the face of the Indian healthcare industry, Mple and Webenoid are laser-focussed on conversational AI for enterprises.
With that said, let’s jump right into the October 2025 edition of Inc42’s newest series — AI Startups To Watch.
Editor’s Note: The list below is not a ranking but rather a window into ventures that have caught our eye this month.
AIGnosis | Rapid Autism Screening & Detection With AIEarly detection of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children in India is fraught with challenges such as a lack of awareness, social stigma, a shortage of specialists, limited access to facilities, long waiting periods for a formal diagnosis and gaps in the healthcare system.
Realising that these issues delayed vital intervention, Raksheet Jain and Divyansh Mangal founded AIGnosis in 2024 to democratise and speed up ASD screening.
Five-Minute AI Assessment: AIGnosis offers a non-invasive, AI-powered assessment tool to assess developmental milestones and detect potential ASD signs in children. By utilising a standard webcam, the platform employs advanced computer vision (CV) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to analyse a child’s facial expressions and behavioural cues for potential signs of ASD and developmental milestones.
A Scalable Solution: What gives AIGnosis an edge is its affordability factor, as the startup offers the rapid five-minute tests for just INR 700. This low-cost model slashes the time, complexity, and cost associated with traditional diagnostic methods. The platform’s webcam-based stack makes it highly scalable and capable of reaching caregivers, seeking timely solutions.
What’s On The Line? AIGnosis is vying for a piece of the screening segment within the broader Indian ASD services market, which is projected to become a $87.5 Mn opportunity by 2030.
Having featured on Shark Tank India earlier this year and notching up an INR 1 Cr deal from sharks Peyush Bansal, Aman Gupta, and Varun Dua, AIGnosis wants to offer early support for parents and improve developmental outcomes for children with ASD.
August AI | AI Health Companion
Accessing reliable healthcare guidance in India remains slow and fragmented. Outpatient waiting times often stretch beyond an hour, leaving patients frustrated and prompting many to self-diagnose online. This broken experience has turned Google into a default doctor for millions, with many second-guessing prescriptions or delaying care altogether.
AI To The Rescue: Founded in 2024 by former SuperShare product lead Anuruddh Mishra, August AI offers an AI-powered health companion accessible via WhatsApp and its own app. Built on Azure OpenAI’s NLP stack, the platform analyses user-submitted prescriptions, reports, and symptom queries to deliver personalised guidance, nutrition plans, medication reminders, and preventive care insights.
Supporting over 30 languages, August AI cross-references trusted medical sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Bridging The Gap: Unlike traditional health apps and online symptom checking platforms, August AI provides instant, contextual guidance, bridging the gap between patients and delayed medical consultations. With over 35 Lakh active users, including 1 Lakh doctors, the platform combines scale, multilingual accessibility, and data-driven personalisation.
Pitted against chatbots like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and newer entrants such as Jivi AI, August AI is balancing regulation and innovation in the rapidly growing Indian telemedicine market, which is expected to touch about $20 Bn by 2033.
Mple.ai | AI-Powered Enterprise TrainingTraditional sales training is often time-consuming, resource-intensive and difficult to scale effectively across large or geographically distributed teams. The results in inconsistent performance and slower ramp-up times for new hires. Enter Mple, which is leveraging AI to improve and streamline the entire training lifecycle.
Acing The Sales Game: Founded in 2023 by Riddhesh Ganatra and Ameet Verma, Mple’s core innovation is its use of AI-driven role-plays, featuring lifelike avatars. This technology allows sales professionals to practice realistic simulated conversations in a controlled, non-judgmental environment.
The platform then provides continuous evaluation across more than 60 parameters and delivers highly personalised feedback to enhance skills, engagement, and confidence.
The AI Coach: The platform allows enterprises to create training simulations tailored to their industry, such as pharmaceutical, telecom, and retail. This on-demand, customised practice helps teams refine their pitches whenever needed. By combining AI coaching with human insights, Mple optimises training impact, saves time, and drives real business outcomes through data-driven insights and gamified learning experiences.
Catering to companies like Wockhardt, Ataraxia Pharma, and ArEx, among others, Mple is tapping into the global sales automation market, projected to become a $32 Bn opportunity by 2032.
Sherlocks.ai | AI Detective For Tech TeamsSite reliability engineers (SREs), who keep enterprise systems running smoothly, are often inundated with a flood of technical alerts and manually searching for the root cause of an outage. This often leads to burnout and operational inefficiencies.
After personally experiencing this while scaling edtech platform Doubtnut to 50 Mn users, Gaurav Toshniwal, along with Akshat Sandhaliya, founded Sherlocks.ai in 2023 to offer an AI detective for tech teams.
Smart Incident Management: Sherlocks offers an AI-driven platform that integrates with existing monitoring tools like Datadog, New Relic, and Prometheus. It then uses GenAI and machine learning to autonomously raise triage alerts, investigate incidents, and deliver context-aware resolutions by analysing historical data and past root cause analysis.
Redefining Efficiency: Unlike legacy tools that simply notify engineers, Sherlocks acts as a proactive on-call SRE, reducing alert fatigue and enabling engineers to focus on higher-impact work. Sherlocks claims that platforms using its offerings report up to 70% reduction in system downtime, positioning it as a next-generation alternative to PagerDuty and Opsgenie. As of now, it counts Stable Money, topmate, Fynd and Lokal App as its clients.
Looking to ease the burden for devOps teams across the globe, Sherlocks is eyeing a piece of the global incident and emergency management market, projected to cross the $196 Bn mark by 2030.
Webenoid | Conversational AI for EnterprisesThe modern customer demands instant support, but behind the scenes, it is a battle. Customer service teams are flooded with repetitive and simple queries, which leads to slow response times and an inability to offer reliable 24/7 engagement without driving operational costs sky-high. Enter Webenoid, an AI startup founded to solve this efficiency and engagement gap.
Automating Customer Care: Founded in 2022 by Joel Immanuel, Webenoid builds AI-powered chatbots and voice assistants that understand natural language and respond contextually to queries across multiple channels, including web, mobile, and messaging apps. Using natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning, it automates customer support, lead qualification, and internal workflow assistance.
Beyond Traditional Chatbots: Unlike standard chatbot solutions that rely on rigid scripts, Webenoid provides an adaptive and scalable conversational AI, reducing operational costs and improving customer satisfaction.
Operating in the conversational AI market, Webenoid competes with players like Freshworks, Haptik, and Ada. It is vying for a piece of the broader global enterprise customer service automation space, projected to become a $50 Bn opportunity by 2031.
