Umar Gul to join Bangladesh as bowling coach: Former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul is going to get a big responsibility in the Bangladesh cricket team. Bangladesh Cricket Board has offered Gul to become their bowling coach. In May, Bangladesh team is going to Pakistan to play a series of five T20 International matches. Gul is to be made the bowling coach of Bangladesh in this series. The board has offered Gul a 30-month contract but initially he will be given a three-month contract only. After seeing the performance of the team in the series against Pakistan, both the parties will be able to sign a 30-month contract with mutual consent.

Umar Gul has revealed this offer. Bangladesh has got some good young fast bowlers in recent times, BCB is planning to take the help of an experienced coach like Gul to groom them. Earlier, Gul has also played the role of bowling coach for Afghanistan and Pakistan cricket teams. He has also been the bowling coach of Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. Gul's international career has been quite spectacular. His role in helping Pakistan win the T20 World Cup in 2009 was very important. He took five wickets against New Zealand in the semi-finals. In his time, Gul also used to bowl at a very good pace and had a lot of variations.

However, Gul's offer is getting a lot of negative reactions in Pakistan. Pakistan's fast bowling has been very poor in recent times. The team's condition was bad in the Champions Trophy. After this, Pakistan had to face continuous defeats in both the T20 and ODI series on the tour of New Zealand. The team's bowling was not very good in both the series. The star fast bowlers of the team have not been in form for a long time. Amidst all this, Pakistani people believe that the legends of their country should work with their bowlers but they are working for other countries.
