Arsenal youth coach David Horseman has been handed a suspension by UEFA. Horseman only recent joined the club from Manchester United after briefly serving as the Red Devils' assistant manager of the under-21s side.
However, it has not taken him long to be embroiled in his first moment of controversy. He has been handed a one-match ban by UEFA for "Insulting players or others present" during the Gunners' U19s side's recent UEFA Youth League clash against Athletic Club.
On the day, Arsenal were defeated 3-1 in Bilbao, which saw Manex Lozano Carmona score two goals either side of an equaliser from Arsenal youngster Brando Nyle Bailey-Joseph. In the second minute of added time Elijah Gift scored a late penalty for the home side to make the score 3-1. It's currently unknown as to whether the Gunners can appeal the ban.

He was expected to be in charge of the young Gunners for their next UEFA Youth League clash against Olympiacos, which takes place on October 1. Ironically, Horseman spoke about his side's display in Bilbao, the game which saw him earn his ban.
He told the official Arsenal website: "I think we grew, we got better after half-time. We had a really good period where we scored and probably should have scored again and the game does look different then.
"Since then, there’s been some really good work done. I think the boys are in much better condition because obviously we had some issues with that, so we’ve developed and grown from there.
"What you probably learn is that Bilbao and Olympiacos have an under-19s team; we don’t. We have under-18s and under-21s, so we all play the Arsenal way and we try to play as close to the first team as possible.

"The boys are not always in the same training group, so although that sounds probably not like a big deal, relationships are created over a period of time, you’ve got to look at how good the relationships are in our first team to see they’ve created them and they train them every day.”
Horseman started the season as the assistant manager of United's U21s side. He abruptly left the club less than a fortnight ago to join up with the north Londoners. The Arsenal coach had only been in situ on the red side of Manchester for three months before he was swayed over to the capital.
When his role at Arsenal was confirmed, the north Londoners released a statement which said: "We are delighted to announce that David Horseman has been appointed as our Professional Development Phase - elite player development coach.

"Under the guidance of our Head of Academy Coaching Luke Hobbs and Academy Manager Per Mertesacker, David will be working closely with our academy coaches, including PDP Lead Ken Gillard and under-21s head coach Max Porter to manage our under-19s in the UEFA Youth League and the EFL Trophy, where we are soon to compete against League One teams Cardiff City and Exeter City, as well as League Two side Newport County.
"An experienced and qualified coach, David holds a UEFA Pro Licence and has previously held coaching positions at first-team and academy level at Southampton, Watford, Bristol Rovers, Forest Green Rovers and Manchester United.
"David was present to oversee our opening Youth League clash against Athletic Club on Tuesday and will take charge of the remaining five matches in the competition."
