Noel and Liam Gallagher have shocked fans at Heaton Park by changing up the set list and adding a new song they didn’t play in Cardiff.
Fans last week who saw the first Oasisshows in 16 years at the Principality stadium were treated to 23 songs including Supersonic and Little By Little.
And the band are well known for sticking to the same set a lot, sometimes without changing for a whole tour.
But back in Manchester they decided to give the fans something extra and played another song from their iconic back catalogue.
The changing set list gives fans hope that other songs may be added at other venues. Taylor Swift played different songs every night on her recent world tour.
In Cardiff the majority of Oasis fans were happy with the choice of songs although there were some notable songs missing.
Amongst those missing which are popular amongst fans are Columbia, Lyla, Go Let It Out, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, The Importance Of Being Idle and the Beatles classic I Am The Walrus, which the band sometimes play as an encore.
Commenting on the Cardiff set list, Paul Johnson said on X: “There’s absolute bangers they left out.”
Mick Went 57 said: “Good but no Columbia? Def in their top 5 imo.”
In the tour programme Noel reflected on playing with Oasis and his brother, saying: “People will never forget the way you made them feel.”
He also mused about why so many people of all ages tried to get tickets for the Oasis Live 25 tour.
Noel said: “A new generation recognises how Oasis wasn’t manufactured. It was chaotic, and flawed, and not technically brilliant. We were rough and ready guys from a rehearsal room, and people recognised it.”
Their return to Manchester coincided with a heatwave and Oasis warned fans ahead of Friday’s gig to wear sun screen and keep hydrated ahead of the show.
