British holidaymakers are threatening to boycott Spanish Islands if a proposed drinks limit at is implemented.

Spanish officials confirmed plans to cap the number of tourists can consume in a day at all-inclusive hotels, with a maximum of six - three for the afternoon and three for the evening. However, Brits who regularly visit these popular destinations, warned they won't return if the ban is enforced.

The regulations, first introduced in 2020, are set to be ramped up this year with restrictions on late-night alcohol sales. Further controls on boat parties are also expected. A reduction in the number of drinks available to attendees of all-inclusive holidays has seen some turn their back on hotels entirely, instead opting for other accommodations.

British TikTok user @youfoundstephen, who resides in Spain, asked his followers their thoughts on the ban, with some vowing never to visit the Spanish Islands again.

The rule applies to resorts including Magaluf, Playa de Palma, El Arenal in Majorca, and San Antonio in Ibiza. One disgruntled fan of the holiday spots said: "With the new laws in Spain lately, I'll never go back," Another added: "Will put an end to tourism, most people won't pay the all inclusive price, and buy the over inflated booze prices in hotels."

Many holidaymakers are ditching the all-inclusive resorts for alternative getaways, with one person sharing online: "Stayed in Airbnbs for years would never go back to a hotel," Meanwhile, another quipped about the changing nature of 'all-inclusive' offers: "So it's not 'all inclusive... it's 'some inclusive'."

Yet, there are those who view these changes positively, suggesting that vacations can be more than just lounging with a drink. One commenter noted: "It would be fine for me as I don't really drink but I think anyone wanting 20 alcoholic drinks in a day needs to rethink their life choices."

Echoing this sentiment, another added: "If your whole holidays about sitting round the pool getting drunk why bother going."
