Former super-middleweight champion has claimed doesn't posses knockout power.
Eubank Jr is currently in the final stages of his training camp ahead of his grudge match with long-time rival as the pair prepare to settle the score in the ring at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Eubank Jr is the favourite to beat Benn and has promised to stop his bitter foe.
But Groves, who outpointed Eubank Jr in 2018, doesn't believe his former opponent has one-punch power. Speaking to on behalf of All Out Fighting, Groves said: "He punches hard enough, but he doesn't have knockout power. He's physically very strong, hopefully he still has that strength now. The strength starts to fail you when you struggle to make weights, you feel too light and the legs can betray you.

"His punch power is decent, you wouldn't want to give away any free shots or take one to land one. He's not a Golovkin, though, and isn't a guy who punches through the target. I don't think he's going to have enough punch power to hurt Benn with one punch. He might catch him clean and hurt him that way, but Benn has been training like a Middleweight for the last few years, training with Denzel Bentley, arguably the best British Middleweight we've got right now. I can imagine he'll be able to take the power. You need to catch these guys clean, when they're not expecting it. That's how you get rid of them at this weight and at this level."
Benn is moving up in weight to face Eubank Jr and is confident he can put on a career-defining performance on fight night and secure one of the biggest wins of his career. With many questioning the move up, Groves has offered his view on Benn's decision. "If he tries to campaign himself at the bigger weights, is that going to be wise for him? I can see why he's done it with the level of excitement around this fight and the money involved, it makes sense from that perspective," he said.
"I don't think we know his true level and I'm not sure if we ever will. It was a fascinating story that, someone who came with in his blood, without a huge amateur pedigree, was learning on the job and honest about it. He made a few mistakes along the way but was constantly improving. He was building a fan base and becoming a big name in his own right.
“Again, much like Eubank, now that Crawford has moved up to light-middle, the light division is made up of Ortiz and Ennis and I think those guys would be too good for Benn. When you look at Crawford and the strength in his division, and then at Middleweight you have Janibek Alimkhanuly, Carlos Adames and even Hamzah Sheeraz. Who knows, Benn or Eubank might surprise me going forward. If Conor can blow him away, maybe his future does belong at Middleweight.”
With Groves set to be on punditry duty for the fight, the Brit has failed to give a concrete prediction, but has offered a slight breakdown of the clash. “I think what you see is what you get with both fighters. We won’t see something we don’t expect," he said. “Benn will come out strong early on, trying to land something in the first few rounds. Eubank needs to survive that pressure and box his way through that situation.
“I think Eubank deserves to be favourite. When the fight was first made two years ago, I fancied Eubank, when it got remade, I thought, maybe Benn beats him? Now, I think Eubank. He’s got to be the favourite on what we’ve seen for this fight.”
