Daniel Dubois vs Oleksandr Usyk final drug test results released

Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois have both turned in NEGATIVE doping tests following their heavyweight sequel last month.

The pair went head-to-head at Wembley Stadium, two years on from their initial encounter. It was the Ukrainian who emerged victorious in 2023 after stopping 'Triple D' in the ninth round - despite the fight being marred by drama. Dubois sent his foe crashing to the canvas in the fifth round, but the shot was eventually deemed low.

Two years on, Usyk was eager to silence his doubters once and for all. The 38-year-old would go on to put on a more dominant display, dropping Dubois in the fifth round before delivering a knockout blow just seconds later to become the undisputed heavyweight champion for a second time in his remarkable career.

As is the case with any fight, both fighters were subject to doping tests after the contest in London. The WBC have today revealed that the results from the pair have come back negative. The WBC wrote on its official website: "The Clean Boxing Program has announced that all doping tests for both fighters have come back negative.

"The second fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois ended in a stunning fashion at Wembley Stadium in London, England. The Ukrainian champion delivered a powerful knockout against the British fighter in front of his home crowd, allowing Usyk to retain the heavyweight belts and reclaim the title that Dubois had held.

"VADA, the independent agency that conducts the anti-doping tests for the Clean Boxing Program, reported the conclusion of the process, solidifying the victory and legacy of the undisputed Ukrainian champion. The “Clean Boxing Program” was implemented in 2016 to conduct doping tests in the WBC. The WBC has an agreement with VADA, the association responsible for sample collection, chain of custody, and laboratory analysis."

Since moving up to heavyweight, the Ukrainian has beaten Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Dubois on two separate occasions. While several stars within the boxing world have called for Usyk to take on Joseph Parker next, the Ukrainian's long-time friend Alexander Krassyuk believes his good friend should call it a day.

“I don’t see him fighting anymore, at least in boxing," he told World Boxing News. "He has proved it all; there’s nothing more to gain. For sure, there’re going to be some dossers around pushing him to the ring again. As a friend, I will do my best to convince him to retire.”

Fans were left stunned a few weeks before the heavyweight rematch after Usyk and Krassyuk decided to part ways. The heavyweight king turned over as a professional with Krassyuk's K2 Promotions in 2013 after winning gold at the London Olympics. When asked why the decision was made to part ways with Usyk during the training camp, Krassyuk explained to World Boxing News: “I felt the momentum. That was the right time to go. I wished Usyk to become the triple undisputed and told that I would stay the lifetime promoter of the two-time undisputed.”

When is Oleksandr Usyk's next fight?

It appears Usyk will take a well-deserved break for the remainder of the year to relax and enjoy precious moments with his family before considering his next move in the squared circle. Following his victory over Dubois, the Ukrainian champion reflected on his age, declaring: "38 is a young guy, remember! 38 is only the start!

"I want to say thank you to Jesus Christ. I want to say thank you to my team and Wembley, thank you so much! It's for the people. Nothing is next. It's enough, next, I don't know. I want to rest. My family, my wife, my children, I want to rest now. Two or three months, I want to just rest." He continued: "Maybe it's Tyson Fury," Usyk added. "Maybe we have three choices, Derek Chisora and Anthony Joshua. Maybe Joseph Parker. Listen, I cannot now say because I want to go back home."
