There could be more than one character onto John Sugden if new scenes are anything to go by.
One character was shown confronting killer John about his lies on Thursday nights, just a day on from Mackenzie Boyd also having his say. But it's hinted that it won't be Mack who exposes John in the end, amid John revealing Mack was his intended next victim.
With more to be revealed about John and the full truth about what happened to Aidan Moore yet to be fully explored it seems, John is keen to silence Mack after he sparked his latest drama with his fiancé Aaron Dingle. With Aaron finding out that Aidan was alive after John's previous claims he was dead, Aaron was left wondering what else was being kept a secret.
Another shock came as Aaron learned Aidan was his ex-fiancé and not a friend from the army, while scenes have left fans convinced John caused Aidan's injuries that led to him being in a coma. Aaron was furious with John for keeping stuff from him, and Mack used this to slam John once more.
He hasn't really liked him from the start but became civil with him. So the latest drama left Mack calling him out once more, with Mack once more suggesting John was dodgy and there was something not quite right about him.

As Aaron made it clear to John he wasn't happy, some of the things he said to his partner may have hinted he was onto him or may soon be. Just as we saw John hinting he was planning on killing Mack, and maybe Aidan too, it seems Mack, who is already onto John, was ruled out as the person who would trigger his downfall.
That's because John was suggesting Mack was on his hit list and needed to be "put out of his misery". So might Mack be killed off, and will it be someone else who figures him out and brings him down?
Aaron could be the person who exposes John, after recent scenes - if his comments are a hint. Just weeks ago it was Aaron that outright confronted John in front of others, calling him a liar.
As John tried to lie about Anthony Fox's body being in the woods amid suspicions he was hiding something, Aaron wasted no time in claiming he could tell by John's face when he was and was not being truthful. In the latest episode he asked a couple of times about John's secrets and why he was keeping them from him.

Making the point that John knew everything about him and his past, he wondered why John could not be truthful with him. Aaron asked him what else he was keeping a secret, and if he was running from something - hinting he knew he was hiding something dark and that John was keeping more secrets under wraps.
John protested but Aaron didn't know what to believe and things ended abruptly. So given this is the second time, if not more, that Aaron has accused John of lying and has realised he's up to no good, does this prove that when it comes to John's eventual comeuppance or him being exposed, it will be Aaron that figures it all out and holds him to account?
Viewers will have to stay tuned to find out if John really does kill Mack and if his other crimes will come to light.
