An presenter was left stunned by a couple reeling off the "biggest wish list in the show's history". Couple Steve and Mark had lived in Winsford, Cheshire for eight years but decided they wanted to make the move to Cumbria.
took on the task of trying to find their dream home in their favourite holiday spot. The pair made sure to as they began their property search.
They didn't hold back on what they wanted as Mark stressed: "We need plenty of space in our new house for our fancy dress things because we have a Eurovision party every year."
The married couple also requested to have a spacious country kitchen. Denise shared their specifications: "As well as all that, they're hoping their budget of £380,000 will also supply three bedrooms, parking for at least two cars, an art room for Steve, a garden to fit a grape vine as well as chickens, , and even an alpaca or two."
She jokingly pulled out a roll of paper as she continued to read out everything Steve and Mark had asked for. The presenter added: "To top it off, they'd like to be near a train station."
Denise admitted their requirements were "bigger than anything I've ever seen on Escape." She didn't hold back from telling Steve and Mark her true feelings either as she showed them her detailed list.
"Right you two, before we get started, I need to get to the bottom of something, this wish list," she said. Denise unrolled their list and read: "Three bedrooms, want character, but also want light and airy, no pokey windows, spacious interior, social kitchen, kitchen big enough for island or butcher block.
"Space to host Eurovision parties, hold on, space to store Eurovision costumes, we're getting very specific now. Space for Steve's car, space for Mark's car, access to a train station, access to a village or a town but not in the centre of a village or a town, of course!"
She continued: "Close to a pub, close to a second pub in case the first pub is closed, come on you two! Have you thought of everything?"
The couple were able to find the humour in their long list as they reasoned: "We're quite sociable characters, you know!"
Denise hit back: "A post office nearby and an alpaca. Are you for real? I love big dreams, but this is quite a list." Steve and Mark joked: "There seems to be space there if you want to write anything else on!"
Despite first impressions that the couple might be very picky, they did relax their wish list by the end of the episode. Denise told them: "You did give me a mighty list to start with, but I don't think we need it anymore."
Steve replied: "Absolutely right. We thought when this process started, we had this extensive list because that's what was in our minds were the things we felt we needed, but we don't need the two pubs and the post office."
Mark added: "All we needed was the feeling that we'd found our next home really." In the end, the couple loved the mystery house and agreed to go back for a second viewing.
