might be one of Britain’s most iconic pop stars, but her latest appearance left fans more confused than impressed. The 52-year-old Spice Girl joined and Dermot O’Leary on the sofa to talk about her latest book Rosie Frost: Ice On Fire.
This is the second instalment in her young adult trilogy that has already caught the attention of Hollywood. While Geri was there to promote her writing, it was her impromptu voice acting that stole the show. While speaking about recording the audiobook herself, Geri proudly revealed: "I do the accents for the audiobook. You haven’t got a Brummy in there, but I do some accents."
Moments later, she launched into a selection of dialects that left Alison and Dermot stunned – and viewers at home cringing. With the enthusiasm of a stage-school graduate, Geri debuted a full on Southern American drawl, quipping: "She’s like 'oh my God Alison, you got to be out of your mind.'"

She then abruptly shifted gears into an Irish accent, adding: "Then we got a Dermot, he’s kind of just Dermot, 'What are you talking about?'"
Geri finished off her little performance with a French accent that had her channelling a character called Madame Lure as she said: "You’re just so elegant. I’m so proud of you."
Alison encouraged her guest, laughing, "You’re so good. I want to listen to the audio now. I’m not going to read the book!" But the reception from viewers at home was less warm.
One person complained: " on This Morning is behaving bizarrely. It’s like she’s shouting (hurts your ears) & emphasising every word. Just over intense & try-hard." Another asked: "The accents? Is this a fever dream?" Meanwhile a third posted: "Geri… just stop, this is an absolute cringe."
The unexpected accent debacle may have been jarring for UK audiences, but Geri’s writing career is still flying high, particularly across the pond. Rosie Frost has gained traction in both the UK and the US, with revealing that the former Spice Girl has held private meetings with Hollywood executives about turning her book trilogy into a feature film series.
An insider said: "Geri has had meetings with film bosses over the past month and there have been serious discussions about bringing her book trilogy to the big screen. They see real promise in the stories and believe a movie adaptation is a real possibility."
Though Geri would step back from day-to-day production, she is expected to act as a consultant on the films – which is a role she would be more than happy to take on. "It’s certainly an exciting time for her," the source added.
They also suggested that Americans are happier to embrace her new career shift, sharing: "There is no snootiness about her becoming an author, either. That’s just not the vibe in America as they have a ‘anyone can do anything’ attitude, which is a mantra reflective of Geri’s. It’s such a welcoming environment and Geri can promote her book without any sneering that she’s a former pop star."
