“I see this all the time, everywhere, I’ve heard this insufferable story so many times…he told me it was Zayn, so,” Maya stated in the clip. Fans swarmed social media after the identity was revealed, with one tweeting: “Idk what happened but I just know zayn was in the right,” as another agreed: “idek the situation but I am 100% sure liam deserved it.” A third quipped: “zayn you will always have my heart good job.”

Liam came under fire for the comments he made in the interview back in 2022, as he slated his bandmates, including and Niall Horan. Discussing his time in the hugely successful boyband, he spoke about why he “dislikes” Zayn, and blamed his upbringing, as he alleged Zayn’s family wasn’t supportive.

“If I had to go through what he went through – with his growth and whatever else. My parents are overly supportive to the point where it’s annoying at times. Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense. You can always look at the man for where he is and say: ‘Oh yeah, whatever, that guy’s a d**k,” Liam stated. “But at the end of the day, once you’re understanding what he’s been through to get to that point – and also whether or not he wanted to be there.”

He also touched upon Zayn’s alleged altercation with his ex Gigi Hadid’s mother Yolanda, as reports suggested the singer had pushed her during an argument. “Listen, I don’t agree with any of his actions. I can’t commend some of the things that he’s done. I can’t be on his side for that. What I can say is I understand and your only hope is that at some point in their life, the person at the other end of the phone wants to receive the help that you’re willing to give them,” he shared.
