There's nothing like having clean windows, but making them shine can be harder than you think to pull off, as it's easy to be left with marks and streaks. However, your luck may be about to change, as a professional window cleaner has shared the one product he uses to make windows glimmer within minutes.
If you're looking for cleaning tips, this is one hack you may want to listen to, as it's super easy to do and doesn't cost much money either. According to the expert, known as oldeskool.windowc on TikTok, you need to use one simple product while washing your windows to make them shine, and you likely already have it at home.
Next time you're cleaning your windows, you may want to get the washing up liquid, as it can really make a difference to their appearance. Not to mention, if you suffer with condensation, it can also come in handy to help prevent this too.

In a recent clip posted online, the window cleaner shared a technique that he loves using to clean windows. He starts by applying the soap mixture to the window, and then he's seen using a squeegee to remove the solution.
If you don't know what a squeegee is, it's a tool that contains a flat, smooth rubber blade that's designed to push, spread and remove liquid from a flat surface, such as windows. The rubber blade helps to achieve a streak-free finish by collecting excess water.
However, as well as using this nifty tool, he also admitted what soap he uses to clean the windows, and he revealed he makes the soapy water solution by using washing up liquid. The video has been viewed hundreds of times since it was shared, and people admitted the finish is "flawless."
One person said: "Finally, someone who does it right." Another quipped: "It's all in the wrist."
A third also commented to say that they always end up with streaks, and the professional explained why this may be the case. He said: "It's all about the drying up. 100% cotton clothes if you are doing it yourself. Just keep scrubbing it dry."
Why should I use washing up liquid? If you didn't know, you can use washing up liquid to clean windows. It's used by many cleaners as it's a common and effective solution for cutting through grease and grime.
It's a good product to use if you want your windows to shine. Furthermore, experts say, if you also use a microfibre glass cloth, this will give you a better chance of achieving a streak-free, sparkling finish.
However, the key to getting it right is using a small amount, as this will help to avoid excessive suds, which can lead to streaks, as well as a filmy residue developing on the glass. You should only use a few drops diluted in warm water to avoid leaving streaks or a film.
When it comes to cleaning, you need to dip a sponge or cloth into the solution, squeeze out the excess and then wipe the window in an "s" pattern from top to bottom. Once this is done, make sure you dry the area with a clean, dry cloth to limit streaks and ensure it totally dries.
When you use this method, it's important to be careful, as some window manufacturers advise against using washing-up liquid on seals. This is because it has the potential to lead to damaging them over time, so be mindful where you apply the solution.
If you struggle to clean your windows, or reach them properly, contact a professional for advice. They will tell you how to best get the job done.
