Tributes have been paid to Robert Trebor following the news this week that he died, aged 71, last month. The actor had a decades-long career that included both TV and film roles, though one particular role is most remembered by fans.
It's been reported that Robert - who played Salmoneus in both Hercules: the Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess - died of at Los Angeles Medical Center on March 11. The news was shared by his wife Deirdre Hennings to , with her also telling the outlet that Robert had been diagnosed with in 2012 and that he had a stem-cell transplant a year later.
The news has been met with to the late actor, with a number of fans remembering Robert - who launched his career decades ago - for his role as Salmoneus. He first played the merchant in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Robert was part of the main cast of the TV show, which ran for six seasons from 1995 until it came to an end in 1999. His character Salmoneus was a friend of Hercules, who was played by Kevin Sorbo, now 66, throughout the series.
The show followed the release of five films about Hercules - which had also starred Kevin in the lead role - in 1994. Salmoneus didn't feature in any of them but Robert had a different role as Waylin in Hercules and the Lost Kingdom.

Robert also appeared as Salmoneus in the spin-off show Xena: Warrior Princess, which ran for six seasons from 1995 to 2001. Lead star , who played Xena, had appeared alongside Robert and Kevin in a few episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys prior to the spin-off launching in the same year.
Additionally, Robert is credited with having appeared in films like Out of the Darkness (1985) and Talk Radio (1988) prior to his role in the two TV shows. He's later credited with roles in Wedding Daze (2004) and Raise Your Voice (2004).
His most recent role is said to have been playing the producer of the fictional film within Hail, Caesar! (2016). He starred alongside the likes of , and in the -nominated project.
The news of Robert's death this week has prompted tributes to the late actor on social media. One person wrote in a post on X: "This is so sad. Rip Robert Trabor (Salmoneus). My deepest condolences to his family and all friends."
Another said in a post: "Rest in peace, Robert Trebor. You always charmed as the lovable Salmoneus. You were the first to see there was more to #Xena in Hercules TLJ. Thanks for bringing him to life with such warmth and humor."
